Sabitri Roy (1918-85) was a sympathizer but not a member of the Communist Party, which censored her novel, Swaralipi. Harvest Song, a translation of her Novel Paka Dhaner Gan, was published by Stree (2006). Adrita Mukherjee taught English at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, for over six years and now lives and works in Wellington, New Zealand.
